Downtown Saline is the wider community’s focal point for 
entertainment, shopping, dining, services, and tourism, drawing people with its friendliness, beautiful historic buildings, events, variety of shops with unique offerings and ample parking. It is a destination where folks stroll the streets, shop, live, dine, worship and are entertained; where storefronts are full, businesses are healthy and the sidewalks, streets and buildings are clean and attractive; where people feel safe, friends meet, families gather and the community comes together to celebrate our heritage throughout the year. It is a place the community takes pride in, invests in and actively supports through a vibrant network of volunteers and community partnerships.

There still exists a town where the shop and restaurant owners know your name. Where kids feel safe to play. Where the schools are exceptional. Where families love to stroll. And where you can find nearly anything within a few miles. A place where things are a little slower, a little simpler, and just a little quieter. That place is Saline. Downtown Saline has the charm of a small town that continues to change with the passing of each decade. The area is full of historic buildings over a century old, combined with buildings built in the 1950’s and 1960’s. The entire area has seen tremendous growth and vitality with new homes, new retail businesses, exceptional restaurants, unique specialty stores and a world-class Rec Center.
Our wonderful community has a population of 9,350 residents and covers 4.14 square miles. Saline enjoys an abundance of parks, museums, walking paths, retails shop and businesses that can be enjoyed by all.
Special events that include the Farmer’s Market, Sports Cars to Saline, the Saline Summerfest, the Harvest of the Arts Oktoberfest, and the Summer Music Series are held in the streets and parking lots in downtown Saline. The events are a coordination effort between the Saline Main Street, the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Saline.
Parades play a big role in community involvement for Saline’s downtown with the Holiday Parade as the number one downtown event each year for the last 30 plus years. An active volunteer community works with the City, Merchants and charitable organizations to make Saline’s downtown a place to work, eat, shop and enjoy.
