West Henry/South Lewis Local Historic District

The West Henry/ South Lewis Local Historic District, designated in 2002, is located one block south of the main "four corners" of downtown Saline. The boundaries are shown on the attached map, beginning at the east end of West Henry Street, with 99 W. Henry on the south side of the street and 100 W. Henry on the north side of the street.  The district continues in a westward direction and ends with 213 W. Henry on the south side and 212 W. Henry on the north side of the street. Three properties on South Lewis Street are also included in the district —100,101 and 103.

The district represents significant early patterns of growth in Saline and contains the home of Saline's founder, Orange Risdon (210 West Henry).
Architectural styles within this district include (but are not limited to) Greek Revival, Queen Anne, Dutch Colonial Revival and Craftsman.
