Youth Council

The City of Saline offers community youths the opportunity to "let their voices be heard in the community". As a regular City Commission, the Saline Youth Council is committed to improving the quality of life for Saline area teenagers by hosting fun activities, participating in youth symposiums, volunteering, and more. All teens living in the Saline School District in 8th - 12th grades are welcome to apply to be part of the action.

Some of the activities and events the Saline Youth Council offers are an annual middle school overnight lock-in, a middle school mentorship program with activities at the Saline Rec Center once a month, Saline Youth of the Year Award program, volunteering at the Saline Evangelical Home monthly bingo, community events downtown and with other City commissions and Saline Parks & Recreation.  Members participate in leadership programs and attend youth symposiums with other teen councils.

If you want to make a positive difference in the Saline community, please contact Carla Scruggs at Saline Rec Center at 429-3502, ext. 2509 or cscruggs@cityofsaline.org.
