Saline Parks Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How many parks are in Saline?
A. 12. Brecon Park, Canterbury Park, Colony Park, Curtiss Park, Marlpool Park, Mill Pond Park, People’s Park, Risdon Park, Stonecliff Park, Tefft Park, Salt Springs and Wilderness Park.

Q. Where is the Dog Park?
A. The dog park is located at Mill Pond Park. It is a leash free 1-acre fenced area located south of the play structure. Access to the pond is available for dogs that like to swim.

Q. Do all the Parks have permanent restrooms?
A. No. Only Mill Pond Park has permanent restrooms. Most of the other parks have port a johns.

Q. When am I able to rent one the park pavilions?
A. Reservations begin January 1st of every year.

Q. What parks have pavilions?
A. Curtiss Park, Mill Pond Park and Tefft Park

Q. What are the procedure for renting one of the park pavilions?
A. Applications are available online or at the Rec Center. They can be mailed, faxed or dropped off at the Rec Center. Payment must accompany all applications. Applications are processed on a first come first serve basis.

Q. Are there electrical outlets at the pavilions?
A. Only Mill Pond pavilion has electrical outlets. They can handle a few small appliances. If your event requires numerous electrical needs, a special outlet box is available. Arrangements may be made by contacting the Facility Manager at the Rec Center.

Q. When is park clean-up day?
A. The Saline Parks Commission holds this event every spring. Individuals and groups are encouraged to help out with a variety of projects to spruce up one of the local parks such as trimming bushes, raking the sand volleyball court, cleaning the walking paths and many more.
