COLLECTION SCHEDULE
Your trash and yard waste pick ups will occur each week on Thursday (west of Ann Arbor St.) or Friday (east of Ann Arbor St.). To ensure pick up, please have your items at the curb by 7:00 AM or the night before your Thursday or Friday collection day. (see back for new recycle pickup schedule)

COLLECTION SCHEDULE
Your trash and yard waste pick ups will occur each week on Thursday (west of Ann Arbor St.) or Friday (east of Ann Arbor St.). To ensure pick up, please have your items at the curb by 7:00 AM or the night before your Thursday or Friday collection day.
Recycling is collected every other week.  Your pick up weeks are shown on the map and calendar below. 
WEEKLY LIMITS:

  • Three - 32 gallon cans (max 60 lbs. each) or
  • Four - 30 gallon bags (max 40 lbs. each) or
  • One - 96 gallon cart (max 200 lbs.)

BULK WASTE COLLECTION LIMITS

Waste Management will collect one large item per week on the same day as regular household waste. Please call ahead 866-797-9018 or email CustomerService_MIOHIN@wm.com to request bulk pick-up.


Advance call required for bulk collection.

One bulk item per week will be collected the same day as regular household waste. Storm doors and windows must have glass removed and packaged separately in a box, taped closed and marked “BROKEN GLASS”, weighing no more than 60 lbs. Carpet must be rolled and tied in 4 foot sections and weigh no more than 60 lbs. No more than 10 bundles at any one time.

ADVANCE CALL REQUIRED. For collection of appliances that still contain Freon, contact WM at 866-797-9018 before placing the item at the curbside for collection (resident pre-payment required).

CAUTION: Please remove doors from refrigerators for safety before placing at the curb.

YARD WASTE COLLECTION

YARD WASTE IS:
Grass clippings, leaves, shrubs, fruit and vegetable waste & brush trimmings (under 4 inches in diameter and less than 4 feet in length)

YARD WASTE DOES NOT INCLUDE:
Sod, pet waste, dirt, rocks, trash, root balls, branches (over 4 inches in diameter and longer than 4 feet in length) Yard Waste Collection is from the first Thursday in April to the last Friday in November.

PLACE YARD WASTE AT THE CURB FOUR (4) FEET FROM YOUR RUBBISH IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER:
Place yard waste in paper yard waste bags or 32 gallons cans CLEARLY MARKED “YARD WASTE” (stickers available at City Hall & DPW). Face yard waste markings toward the street, so the driver can identify the can as yard waste. DO NOT USE A PLASTIC BAG LINER. For the safety of our employees, containers over 32 gallons will not be collected due to weight. No container should weigh more than 60 lbs. 6 can or bag maximum per week Bundle brush and branches that are 4 inches in diameter or less in 3-4 foot long bundles with string. Please insure bundles are no larger than 18 inches around and weigh no more than 60 lbs each. Yard waste mixed with rubbish cannot be collected.

LARGE BRUSH PICKUP
ADVANCE CALL REQUIRED. Call WM in advance at 866-797-9018 to schedule curbside collection of large brush defined as brush generated by non-commercial removal, greater than 4 feet but less than 8 feet in length and not greater than 6 inches in diameter.

ITEMS WE DO NOT COLLECT

  • Gasoline & Automotive Oil
  • Car & Truck Parts / Engines / Tires
  • Hazardous Waste / Liquids / Oil Based Paint
  • Yard Waste Mixed with Trash
  • Concrete / Bricks / Construction Debris (Beyond 1, 32 Gallon Can, 50 Lbs. Max)
  • Cyclone Fencing / Railroad Ties
  • Tree Stumps
  • Liquid Latex Paint (Dried latex paint is OK. Latex paint should be solidified by adding dirt or sand and allowed to dry. Place the dried paint separately at the curb for pickup. The lid must be off so the service crew can determine that it is dried.)

Trash Pick-up Schedule

Residents West of Saline Ann Arbor - Pick up is Thursday.

Residents East of Saline Ann Arbor - Pick up is Friday.

Holiday Schedule

In any week that a holiday falls on a week day, service is one day later than normal. Thursday customers will be picked up on Friday and Friday customers will be picked up on Saturday. Waste Management observes the following holidays

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day
